DPD Netherlands donates Hardware to IT4Kids for social and sustainable impact

DPD Netherlands believes in a future where sustainable logistics go hand in hand with social responsibility. As a regular hardware donor to IT4Kids, DPD Netherlands contributes to our mission: giving vulnerable children a fair chance at a healthy and promising future through sports.

From Hardware to Sporting Opportunities
Instead of discarding decommissioned laptops, servers, and other hardware as waste, DPD Netherlands chooses to give this equipment a second life. Through IT4Kids, the hardware is securely wiped, sustainably processed, and reused. All proceeds go directly to sports projects run by charitable organizations, allowing children who would otherwise lack access to sports to participate. Together, we create both social and circular impact.

Why DPD Netherlands Donates
Sustainability is a key priority for DPD Netherlands and its parent company Geopost. DPD Netherlands aims to become Europe’s most sustainable parcel delivery company and has committed to achieving Net Zero by 2040.

Donating decommissioned hardware to IT4Kids aligns perfectly with this ambition. Rather than discarding electronics, DPD gives equipment a second life and reduces e-waste. At the same time, the initiative creates social impact by giving children growing up in poverty or with a disability more opportunities through sport. In this way, DPD Netherlands contributes to both climate goals and a more inclusive society with a single action.

“We are proud that our decommissioned hardware can directly contribute to equal sports opportunities for children. It’s inspiring to see how something that’s ‘written off’ for us can make a huge difference for someone else,” says DPD Netherlands.

IT4Kids: Sporting Opportunities for Every Child
At IT4Kids, we believe every child deserves a healthy and promising future. Sports play an essential role in this. They not only promote physical health, but also teach #skills4life like confidence and teamwork. Additionally, sports give children the opportunity to have fun and build friendships.

In the Netherlands, a large number of children grow up without access to sports. Of the 115,000 children growing up in poverty, 50% do not participate in sports. 70% of children with a physical disability experience loneliness. Sports can help break this cycle, which makes our mission all the more urgent.

IT4Kids generates income by giving decommissioned corporate hardware a second life. The proceeds are donated to charity partners that make sports structurally accessible to these children.

“We are incredibly grateful for partners like DPD Netherlands who are committed to IT4Kids. Structural hardware donations are invaluable to us,” says IT4Kids.

Want to Contribute to a Healthier Generation?
IT4Kids collaborates with companies that want to use their decommissioned hardware for a good cause. Donations are collected securely, professionally wiped, and sustainably processed. The residual value goes entirely to sports projects.

In addition to hardware donations, financial contributions or participation in fundraising events are also welcome.
